I wrote a poem once.
It was an elusive thing,
Not so much shy as furtive.
Not being a teenage goth
And given to facile outpourings
Of multisyllabic gloom
(you know the kind of thing -
reads like a thesaurus sired it
and a generator spawned it),
And not being one of those
Who label themself 'poet'
Because it looks better on paper
Than pretentious wanker,
I blinked aghast and tore it up.
Well, the digital equivalent.
This?
This is not a poem.
This is a mere contemplation
With random line breaks.
